Local 284 is pleased to announce that Bill Merdeath has been appointed to fill a vacant Trustee position on Local 284’s Executive Board.
Bill joined the Teamsters in 1985 as a member-employed by Western Kraft Corp. (now International Paper). After six years as an employee of Western Kraft, Bill was hired by the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Columbus starting in 1991. Bill served as a Union Steward beginning in 2000, first as an alternate and currently a Shop Steward in the Brewing Department.
Bill is proud to be a second-generation Union Steward following in the footsteps of his father who also served as a shop steward at AB for over 20 years. Bill was a member of the most recent negotiating committee for the current Plant Agreement that passed by a membership vote of 89.5%.
Bill's many years of service as a Teamster, active involvement in contract negotiations and day-to-day representation as a shop steward are beneficial to all Local 284 members.
Please join us in welcoming Bill Merdeath to Local 284 Executive Board.
